special-protocols: Device Multiplexer
-------------------------------------

This protocol allows you to assign two or more Setup Codes
to the same device button. At the press of a button, you
can choose which Setup Code is the active one.

In the Other Data cells, enter a Dev Type and Setup Code in
order to calculate the Hex Cmd for the Key Move.

Install the Device Upgrade and Protocol Upgrade into IR, and
assign Key Moves to the buttons you want to use to change
the active Setup Code.

When you create the Key Move:

1) The Device portion of "Bound key" is the device key whose
setup code you want to change (and the device which must be
active when you perform the change).

2) The Key portion of "Bound key" is the key you want to use
to perform the change.

3) The Device Type and Setup code of the Key Move are the
values you chose (see cells E3 and E6 of the Setup sheet) in
creating the upgrade for this protocol, which default to
TV/1101 if you didn't choose new values.

4) In the EFC/Hex Cmd section, you must select Hex Cmd (not
EFC) and enter the pair of two digit hex values computed in
the "Hex Cmd" column of "Other Data".

Some examples **:

  VCR/Shift-1s = TV/1101 20 A2
will change the VCR button to code VCR/0162

  VCR/Shift-2s = TV/1101 22 3B
will change the VCR button to code VCR/0571

  VCR/Shift-3s = TV/1101 11 6A
will change the VCR button to code TV/0362

The Setup Code change is remembered even when you switch
away from the device, so you can press other device buttons
and then press VCR again, and still control the last device
you selected.

Note: Key Moves always have precedence over the default keys
for a device and a Key Move retains the setup code it was
defined with, even when the bound device's setup code changes.
This means that keys defined by Key Move are shared by all
virtual devices (created by this Device Multiplexer) which
share the same device button.

** The hex commands in the above examples depend on the
association of numbers to device types, which depends on the
model of remote. Use the "Other Data" section of the
spreadsheet to translate for the model of remote you select.
